There is a quiet political movement taking shape that some call "depolarization". Depolarization involves bringing people together to "bridge" deep political differences and identities, and find "common ground". But why must I talk to the "other"? Is depolarization a means or an end? If it is a means, what is the end? What are some definitions of key terms? There is also criticism that mainstream media is polarized, and that journalists are not making the effort to help. But journalism is already caught up its own false equivalence shootout. How will we handle holocaust deniers, haters, and flat-earthers? Are there limits to inclusion in bridging and finding common ground?
