Hannah Suppa loves local digital journalism – she has been editor-in-chief of Digital Transformation in local news at Madsack Media Group in Germany since July 2019. The Madsack Media Group is one of the biggest local publishing groups in Germany. In addition to that she is executive Director of RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND), a news network of Madsack Media Group.
Suppa was editor-in-chief at Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung (MAZ), Brandenburg’s biggest newspaper, for 2 years before. Prior to this, Suppa worked at the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) as deputy editor-in-chief, after having worked there as director of digital affairs as well as a local reporter.
After studying German philology, political sciences and civil law in Münster, she first came to HAZ as a trainee. Having served as an editor, reporter and local as well as digital desk editor, she became the director of digital affairs for the entire HAZ newsroom in 2012 and deputy for HAZ editor-in-chief Hendrik Brandt.
